About Lynn Lake Project Alamos Gold’s Lynn Lake project is one the highest-grade open pit gold deposits in Canada. The Lynn Lake project is located in northern Manitoba and consists of two primary sites, MacLellan and Gordon, which are just east of the Town of Lynn Lake. Reporting to the Director of Projects and working with the corporate Sustainability Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the successful delivery of the Lynn Lake Project.The Project is currently in the Engineering Phase of development, with construction expected to commence in early 2025.The Community Relations Manager scope covers engagement with First Nation community partners and other project stakeholders including community members and local, Provincial and Federal government representatives.We believe that building trust with internal and external partners is facilitated through clear and open disclosure of our performance, plans and delivering on our commitments. Primary Responsibilities: We are looking for a Community Relations champion who can coordinate and collaborate with our partners, stay ahead of regulatory and community commitments, manage and improve our systems for community governance and deliver on our promises. Specific tasks include: Engage with local First Nations and community members; Meet and collaborate with local community representatives and council; Coordinate, lead and document all community meetings and commitments; Coordinate with other Project functional areas to ensure Impact Benefit Agreement (IBA) commitments are implemented, tracked, and reported upon; Ensure that Provincial and Federal licensing and permitting commitments regarding communities and First Nations are tracked and met; Work with Project technical leads and the Training Coordinator to ensure Project documentation and training initiatives are culturally aligned; Work with the Environmental Manager to deliver environmental studies, management plans and permits that are aligned with our IBA(s) and Licensing conditions; Lead the Project’s implementation of Alamos’ Sustainability Performance Management Framework, specifically all community-related standards including but not limited to: Stakeholder identification and mapping, Community engagement, Community development, Community feedback mechanisms Coordinate site visits with stakeholders as required; and Other duties as required. Job Qualifications & Skill Requirements: Post-secondary degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field; A proven track record of developing and sustaining relationships with Indigenous community leaders, members and their advisors; Minimum of 5 years (10 preferred) of relevant professional work experience including experience working with First Nations in remote communities; Self-starter who can anticipate needs and work independently; Preference to candidates who have worked with remote northern indigenous communities; Outstanding decision-making skills, demonstrating a strategic and objective approach to challenges and opportunities; Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities with the capacity to work independently and in team environments with people at all levels; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; The ability to communicate complex issues to people of diverse backgrounds; Ability to work in diverse cultures with tact, savvy and an understanding of differences in business environments; Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities; Commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner; Experience implementing mining industry IBAs is considered an asset; Ability and willingness to travel; and Strong proficiency in MS Office applications.
