The Senior Analyst, Canadian Joint Replacement Registry (CJRR), is involved in a broad range of activities as a member of an interdisciplinary team. They are responsible for leading analyses related to joint replacements, including producing annual reports, conducting data quality analyses, supporting data collection activities and leading data requests. The Senior Analyst will also provide analytical leadership on new analyses related to prosthesis-level reporting and project support on initiatives related to data advancement of CJRR in Canada. As a member of the Joint Replacement Registry, Patient-Reported Outcomes and Experiences department, the Senior Analyst will collaborate with department members to explore future analytical work using CIHI’s hospitalization, registry, patient-reported outcome and patient experience data on hip and knee replacements. What you'll do 1.Responsible for the production of information products for annual reporting and abstracts, activities may include literature reviews, data analysis, verification, interpretation, writing, preparation and delivery of presentations. 2.Provides timely and client-oriented services in response to requests for data/information from internal and external clients in accordance with CIHI privacy and related policies and procedures. Activities may include assessing data inquiries and consultations with clients throughout the process from specifications development to supporting questions post-release. 3.Provides analytical leadership to new initiatives such as prosthesis brand-level analysis. Activities may include preparing meeting summaries, supporting stakeholder meetings and conducting analytical investigations. 4.Works with other team members, supporting data submission cycle processes by performing ongoing data quality checks, investigating data quality issues and producing comprehensive documentation as per the CIHI corporate data quality framework and other technical documentation needs. 5.Develops and maintains a detailed knowledge of the CJRR database and knowledge of databases used by the CJRR such as the Discharge Abstract Database, Hospital Morbidity Database, and the National Ambulatory Care Reporting System. 6.Participates in, and supports CJRR advisory committee meetings, and the CJRR Scientific Working Group. 7.Mentors other members of the CJRR and department analytical team. 8.Participates in other related analytic and projects as required. What you'll bring to the table •Undergraduate degree in Epidemiology, Health Information, Statistics or other related field. A graduate degree is an asset. •Three to five years of experience analyzing health-care data, including experience with data manipulation and statistical analysis of large, relational datasets. •Experience using SAS and Python is required. Experience using R is an asset. •Knowledge and experience with quantitative statistical methods and ability to critically synthesize and interpret data to inform development of analytical products. Experience preparing and presenting analyses and reports for different audiences. •Strong written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated ability to problem-solve and effectively communicate technical approaches and analytical findings. •Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a deadline-driven environment. •Fluency in English is required, bilingualism in both official languages is an asset.
