Its high-profile roles in recent years include the purchase and ongoing ownership of the Trans Mountain Pipeline, the establishment and ongoing oversight of the $15-billion Canada Growth Fund, the sale of Ridley Terminals, and the establishment and operation of the Large Employer Emergency Financing Facility (LEEFF) program, which has provided over $7 billion in structured bridge financing to large Canadian companies across various sectors who were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. CDEV was recently mandated to deliver the $5 billion Indigenous Loan Guarantee Program and is often sought out to establish new entities to help achieve policy objectives.Headquartered in Toronto with an office in Ottawa and subsidiary offices in Calgary, it is governed by an independent board of directors.CDEV is looking to add an experienced lawyer to its growing team as Counsel, Investments, to be based out of either Toronto or Ottawa, with a hybrid work option. The successful candidate will be involved in giving strategic legal advice across a variety of complex transactions and projects including loans and loan guarantees, equity investments, M&A, and divestitures. This role will suit a collaborative and adaptable lawyer with the demonstrated ability to build positive relationships both internally and externally.The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of transactional experience coming from a leading firm or in-house environment, and a strong understanding of corporate and commercial law matters. Experience advising clients in the natural resources, energy, infrastructure, or telecommunications sectors would be an asset.
