Quality and Infrastructure Developer COOP (Hybrid)Survalent is looking for innovative and enthusiastic co-op Software Developer to join our Web Application Development team for the Fall 2024 work term. The Web team is responsible for delivering high-performance, scalable, secure, and intuitive web applications.  This team is responsible for both front-end and back-end coding and leverage modern development frameworks.We are looking for self-motivated individuals to support our quality assurance and CI/CD initiatives. Ideal candidates will contribute to creating automated test scripts using our framework (leveraging C#/PowerShell/Python-style scripts and internal/external tools), interacting with and building the required data stacks, and extending our current infrastructure to enhance automation.  This role offers an excellent learning opportunity in practical software development practices and the electrical industry. If you are passionate about quality practices and real-time software applications, this is a great opportunity for you!What You’ll be doingWork with the Team Lead/Senior developers to create automated/functional test scripts for both Server / Web Applications.Coordinate with the Build team to integrate those scripts into software building process and advance our CI/CD infrastructure.Create technical documentation as required.Contribute as a member of a development team to write high-quality and maintainable code including Front-end UI and effective Web (REST) APIs.Test desktop / web real-time software to ensure responsiveness, scalability, and efficiency.Follow Agile development processes to ensure efficiency while maintaining product robustness and quality.What You’ll Need:Must be enrolled in an Engineering, or related field program at university.Experience and/or knowledge of C#.Understanding of Web APIs and/or microservices.Experience or knowledge of front-end web development (e.g. HTML5, JavaScript).Experience working with any web/JavaScript framework (e.g. React, Angular, or Vue).Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and software design.Passion to learn and applying new technologies. Ideally your portfolio shows an ability to learn and develop solutions across platforms.Any Database skills (MS SQL/MySQL, MongoDB). What’s Nice to HaveExperience using Visual Studio, .NET Framework, WPF, and Windows Forms.Experience with any source control applications including Git and Bitbucket.Experience with CURL, Postman, Swagger, and Fiddler and similar technologiesUnderstanding of multi-threading and other performance-related design constructs.Experience building intuitive, mobile friendly and responsive UI/UX design.Experience designing and developing software using design patterns and objected oriented concepts.Familiarity with Progressive Web App (PWA), Service Worker, Cache/Local Storage, and Background Sync.Familiarity with spatial/geographic problem sets and proficiency in tiled map libraries like Open Street Map, Bing, and Google.This position will report to the Team Lead of Web Applications.
