Role: The Global Mobility & Immigration Specialist, reports to Vice President, Human Resources and works closely with the HR Team, Employees, Managers and our external Immigration firm. The ideal candidate demonstrates their empathy and active listening skills with our employees, their ability to make recommendations on immigration and mobility best practices as well as their project management skills. 

Your Day with Equisoft:

  • Promote and enhance our immigration strategy, program, and relocation support policies,and, overall, build an incredible employee experience during transitions andrelocations. 
  • Act as expert and advise on legal and government regulations toprovide a seamless experience. 
  • Document, improve or develop procedures and policies related to immigration and mobility and various internal tools. 
  • Identify areas of opportunity within our current mobility and immigration processes andlevel up the overall experience for employees and managers. 
  • Partner with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Managers, Employees, Candidates, and otherstakeholders (internal and external) to ensure immigration processes are deliveredseamlessly and timely. 
  • Initiate and supervise, along with legal counsel, the immigration process from end toend.

This may involve the following: 

  • Change of employer requests 
  • New work permit applications 
  • Permanent residency requests 
  • Permanent and temporary relocations 

Support and provide guidance to the employees throughout their relocation byanswering their queries in a timely manner and managing: 

  • Offboarding in current country 
  • Onboarding in new country 
  • Inpatriate and expatriate benefits programs 
  • Travel fares and insurance 
  • Expenses
  • Participate in various HR projects and initiatives. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Law, or related field. 
  • 5+ years of experience with U.S. and Canada (Quebec) Immigration. 
  • Knowledge of international immigrationregulations and immigration and mobility best practices. 
  • Prior experience in a consulting role is a major asset.
  • Ability to work with autonomy as well as comfort in navigating the grey and apply a figure-it-out attitude to solve problems. 
  • Ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with internal and externalstakeholders. 
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 
  • Fluency in English and French: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Handles confidential information professionally and discreetly. 

Nice to Haves: 

  • Knowledge of immigration regulations of other countries in which Equisoft maintainslegal operations is an asset.
