Software Developer (M&S)

Position OverviewCalian is seeking a Software Developer for an upcoming modeling and simulation project in the defense sector.ResponsibilitiesDesign, write, read, test, and correct code for new software, including programming animation software to predefined specifications for interactive video games, Internet, and mobile applicationsAnalyze information to recommend and plan the installation of new systems or modifications of an existing system, evaluating simple interrelationships between programs to ensure seamless functionalityWrite, modify, integrate, and test software code for e-commerce, Internet, and mobile applications, as well as develop, implement, modify, and maintain gameplay features that integrate effectively into existing softwareCreate documentation for new and updated software, investigating applicable technologies and standards, while overseeing system design, trainer architecture design, software development, system integration, and validation, verification, and system testingManage the delivery and installation of systems to ensure successful implementationRequirementsMust currently hold or be eligible for Secret – Level II (or higher) Clearance with the Government of CanadaBachelor’s Degree from a Canadian* University in the field of Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or MathematicsMinimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in an applicable field of software developmentMinimum of four (4) years experience in the last five (5) years performing the role of a Software Developer in a modeling and simulation environmentExperience deriving functional requirements in a modeling and simulation environmentExperience designing simulation software in a modeling and simulation environmentExperience programming graphics using OpenGL, QT, or equivalent productExperience developing add-ons, extensions, or plug-insExperience designing, coding and testing using C++, C, or C# programming languagesExperience integrating and testing softwareExperience investigating software products for use and integration into M&S applicationsExperience generating test plans and procedures as well as written test reports in a “modeling and simulation environment
