What you will do: Demonstrate a strong commitment to the SH&E Safety program by assisting team members in maintaining safety compliance as per Nutrien Ag Solutions SH&E policies. Follow safety policies, protocols, and procedures, and ensure a safe working environment for all team members. Effectively execute doubled haploid project plans to ensure the production of high-quality embryos and plantlets that meet the planned targets and timelines. This includes accomplishing the following weekly tasks: microspore extractions, embryo plating, subculture/plantlet transfers, ploidy analysis, and doubled haploid plantlet planting. Accurate and detailed data entry in the required project files and databases. Effective collaboration with coworkers to ensure targets and deadlines are met. Reporting and documenting recalcitrant genotypes and recording any adjustments in the protocol used to achieve embryogenesis. Coordinate marker screening of doubled haploid plantlets with the molecular team. Execute Quality Assurance processes and SOPs to ensure the gene purity of all doubled haploid derived genotypes, which includes the accurate labeling and selection of all donor plants, tissue culture material, and doubled haploid plantlets. Assist with experiments and data collection according to specified procedures. Maintain, organize, and summarize experimental results. Participate in team supporting activities such as media preparation, equipment maintenance, housekeeping, and protocol improvement. Provide cross-functional support by helping other groups including the greenhouse, field, pathology, and molecular lab as required. What you will bring: Bachelor of Science, or college diploma in Agriculture, Biology, or other related disciplines or equivalent through relevant successful experience. Preference to those with experience working in plant tissue culture or doubled haploid labs. Basic knowledge and interest in plants is essential. Preference to those with basic knowledge of plant breeding, doubled haploids, and molecular breeding. Attention to detail. Safety-oriented.
