You will engage with a team that values respect, accountability, and integrity.We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer – a skilled individual responsible for implementing process improvement methodologies and practices that enable optimum production output to be achieved. This includes cost reduction, process optimization, quality improvements and scrap reduction.What You Will DoEnsure that all business is performed with an attention to detail and is done in accordance with the Southmedic Quality System, mission and values.Improve manufacturing efficiency through the elimination of waste.Identify and deliver manufacturing cost reductions.Recommend, design and implement changes to current work cell, equipment and tooling.Assist and provide guidance to the development, design and build of new manufacturing products and processes.Improve the troubleshooting skills of production operatives and support functions.Be accountable and responsible to have a thorough knowledge of the departmental operations.Work diligently with customers to ensure that their design requirements are met and are done in accordance with Southmedic Inc.’s philosophy.Oversee all drawings and technical information relating to these products.What We NeedTechnical diploma in mechanical engineering or at minimum experience in production manufacturing and automation.Strong knowledge of product design and engineering techniques.Effective communicator capable of developing a good rapport with existing and potential customers.Good design aptitudes coupled with a strong background in production and assembly techniques, cognizant in product design and their specifications.Excellent problem-solving skills.Excellent interpersonal skills.A very inquisitive mind and the ability to conceptualize product and build working models.Must be fluent in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microsoft Project or similar project management software and Microsoft Office software.What We OfferRetirement Program - Southmedic will match RRSP contributions in our program that employees can begin participating on their first day.Benefits - Our group benefit plan covers medical, dental, vision, and other health needs, including our employee assistance program.Perks - Southmedic employees enjoy a variety of perks and discounts from local corporate partners like fitness memberships, events, and more!Education Reimbursement - Our continuing education program provides financial assistance for training and education courses.Engagement - We hold a number of social activities during the year including BBQ's, giveaways, and employee activities.Southmedic is committed to providing accessible employment practices that are in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
