Russell Equine is seeking an Equine Veterinary Associate to help maintain and grow our general care, breeding, and sport horse practice!

As an associate, you will work alongside senior veterinarians to gain experience in providing general care as well as performance horse evaluations and treatments to a wide variety of breeds across multiple disciplines. Practitioners are provided with a fully equipped ambulatory vehicle and have access to our clinic facilities which include 13 stalls, three treatment areas, breeding stocks and an indoor jogging strip. Our ideal candidate has enthusiasm for all aspects of equine medicine, excellent communication skills and the desire for continued growth and development.

Job Location: Russell, Ontario (Canada) – 25 minutes east of Canada’s capital (Ottawa)

Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer general and wellness healthcare for horses, both in-clinic and on farm.
  • Contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of lameness in sport horses.
  • Maintain client relationships.
  • After Hours Emergency Coverage (equitable split with 5 other doctors)

Qualifications:

  • DVM Degree with eligibility for Ontario licensure (Quebec licensure eligibility is considered an asset)
  • Paid time off
