Digging a hole and small trench by hand

I have a wire that needs to be carefully dug up, aprox 10 feet long and not sure how deep. Then a hole to be dug at side of foundation. The ground is hard pack dirt with gravel on top. I will provide shovels. Job is in Washago and available Friday or Saturday .
