You will play a pivotal role in our electrical engineering group with responsibilities as follows: General: be a driving force in engineering projects, manage and guide them from inception to successful completion both individually and as a key part of a team of high-performing engineers and technical staff.Design: lead a talented electrical team of engineers and designers in the electrical design of a wide range of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communications, security, emergency systems, grounding, and other building systems for our institutional, commercial and industrial clients, including:Preparation of design documentation including single line diagrams, site plans, electrical plans and layouts, panelboard and equipment schedules, calculations and reports.Delegation of work to junior and intermediate electrical engineers and designers, checking to ensure accuracy and presentation quality, and providing guidance as necessary.Development of innovative solutions tailored to the specific needs of our clients, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability.Travel to jobsites to gather design data, take measurements and inspect work performed by contractors. Occasional overnight travel will be required.Project Management: ensure projects are executed on time and within budget, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality results. Lead electrical design teams of engineers and designers. Leadership and Collaboration: Contribute positively to the day-to-day office environment and culture at TriMac Engineering. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate electrical engineering and design staff. Develop and foster relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, industry representatives and others.Technical Expertise and Training: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, code and standards. Identify and participate in industry-relevant training & continuing education opportunities. Contribute to TriMac’s corporate relations through active participation in relevant professional associations and committees. Business Development: Promote the brand, corporate image and values of TriMac Engineering in outward-facing dealings with clients, consultants, contractors, associations, etc. Develop engineering fee proposals for projects with returning and new clients. Required Qualifications: Registered P.Eng. with Engineers Nova Scotia or another Canadian province.10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in designing power systems up to 600V, lighting, fire alarm, communications, grounding and other related systems for buildings, and development of design packages including design calculations, drafting and creating construction specifications.Extensive experience in performing on-site services for construction inspections, condition assessments, equipment acceptance testing, and commissioning.Excellent demonstrated technical writing, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.Comprehensive knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code of Canada and other relevant codes and standards.Demonstrated leadership skills, initiative, and ability to lead electrical teams to success on multidisciplinary projects.Proficiency in relevant design software packages such as PowerTools, ETAP, and photometric analysis tools, etc.Organized multi-tasking self-starter, able to lead a multidisciplinary team on projects while working with multiple project deadlines and budgets.Class 5 driver’s license and use of own vehicle; some travel required.?Optional Non-Core Qualifications/Experience: Proficiency in CADD software such as Revit, AutoCAD is a strong asset.Market knowledge and experience in the Halifax Region is a strong asset.Experience with medium and/or high voltage electrical transmission and distribution systems is an asset.Experience with PLC’s and industrial controls is an asset.Project experience in the municipal, provincial and federal government public sectors is an asset.Current LEED Accreditation is an asset.Current PMP designation is an asset. How to Apply: If you are interested in this exciting opportunity and feel that you are the right candidate for the job, we want to hear from you.
