$1,852.71 - $2,314.51 Per Week*

This position will play a critical role in the continued deployment and enhancement of law enforcement and cross sector integration solutions.

What can I expect to do in this role?

As a valued team member you will:
• Design and implement network and security architectures for both acquired and developed application solutions
• Perform system integration, testing and tier 3 on-call support for mission critical application infrastructure
• Provide technical expertise and guidance for the development and implementation of security solutions to support project teams and peer technical staff
• Ensure adherence to network and IT security standards requirements of municipal, provincial and federal Police forces

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge & Experience

You have:
• knowledge of information, network and security technologies and engineering principles
• knowledge of, and experience with network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) hardware and software, TCP/IP, Windows Server, XML, HTML, VPN and IPSEC
• knowledge of LAN, WAN, Firewalls and PC hardware, software architectures, network protocols and topologies to analyze existing ministry technology and identify improvements/developments
• knowledge of current and the advances in hardware and software products and peripheral equipment
• experience in advanced WINTEL installations, configuration, troubleshooting and administration, including file system, integrity, security, system & user account automation, domains, trust relationships, directory replication, system optimization and communications
• experience in designing, implementing and supporting hardware/software infrastructures for both development and production environments, supporting multi-tiered applications in large distributed environments.

Reasoning, Analytical and Problem Solving skills

• You can assess and recommend network and security architectural strategies of highly complex technical solutions
• You can assess technical design problems and develop computerized solutions to infrastructure problems in support of systems and end users
• You can conduct cost benefit analyses in support of acquisition recommendations

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• You have excellent written and oral communication skills to discuss client requirements, prepare project reports and discuss acquisition recommendations with clients, technical staff and vendors
• You have interpersonal skills to listen, negotiate and influence technology issues and ensure performance and standards needs are achieved while delivering business solutions
• You have demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions with vendors, customers, other technical staff and senior management
