The Executive Lead, Emergency and Trauma Services provides leadership to regional planning processes focused on strategic and program planning, consultation, and advice on the Emergency and Trauma Service Network design including implications for health services integration, human resources, information management, and resource allocation planning. This role also stimulates and supports quality improvement with data, information, evidence-informed practice guidelines, standards, policy, and research to inform program development initiatives and the use of learning sessions to implement change. The Executive Lead acts as Northern Health’s representative in provincial strategic planning processes and in developing partnerships with the Ministry of Health, other organizations, and associations involved in the development of critical care and emergency services in B.C. The Executive Lead works in a co-leadership model with the Medical Lead for the Emergency and Trauma Services Program and collaborates with other Service Leads, physicians, and professional staff to align program goals with the objectives set out in Northern Health’s Strategic Plan and the necessary change management to improve the quality of health services. Starting salary will be approximately from $128,298 to $160,372 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Health Administration or a health-related discipline, with a minimum of ten (10) years experience, including at least seven (7) years in a senior position responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex service delivery systems, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience. Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated leadership abilities and skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage change. High degree of flexibility in a changing environment. Strong organizational and project management skills including the ability to plan, develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate programs both independently and in teams. Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging health services and practice issues at the provincial and national levels. Ability to effectively present and clarify requirements, expectations, ideas, and concepts to gain buy-in from stakeholders. Commitment to client/patient focused care. Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills including facilitation and negotiation skills. Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills that involve the use of data and information. Ability to establish partnerships. Experience in designing and implementing continuous quality improvement programs. Working knowledge of research processes and methodologies.
