As a part of the COE, you will work with multiple companies across different industries to gain a unique insight into how businesses operate.The opportunityWithin EY’s Assurance practice, we have a Centre of Excellence (COE) located in Halifax, Nova Scotia that predominantly performs remote delivery work in the areas of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (NI 52-109 and Sarbanes Oxley) and other Assurance related procedures. We are currently seeking a Manager to join this growing team. The successful candidate will participate in client engagement teams, whereby he/she will be assessing, improving and evaluating/testing our clients’ business processes and controls.You will have the opportunity to bring your knowledge and expertise to our clients in the following key areas:Business process controlsAgreed upon procedures and/or specified proceduresSubstantive testingYour Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain productive relationships with client and EY management throughout the year.Participate in performing audit procedures, especially focusing on complex and/or specialized issues.Understand the client's industry and recognize key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments.Stay informed of general business/economic developments and their impact to the client.Oversee and review staff work products to ensure high quality.Develop people by encouraging individuals to think for themselves and take responsibility for their contributions to the team.Conduct timely performance reviews and provide performance feedback/training. Lead by example.Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery.Maintain cooperative relationships with other engagement teams.Develop long-term relationships and networks both internally and externally.Skills and Attributes For SuccessUndergraduate degree in Accounting or related fieldCanadian CPA auditor professional accounting designation, or a reciprocal CPA auditor designation recognized with the CICA is preferredMinimum 5 to 7 years of experience working as an auditorExcellent project management skillsAdvanced written and verbal communication skills in EnglishA dedication to teamwork and leadershipIntegrity within a professional environmentWhat we look forWe’re interested in strong team players who support their colleagues in reaching their goals while also considering their own workload and development.
