About the Opportunity This position is responsible for developing and maintaining a Public Health emergency response plan that is integrated into NSH’s broader all hazard disaster and emergency response plan. This includes the provision of technical expertise, consultative services to zone stakeholders and NSH partners, and advisory support to all zones for public health emergency preparedness, training, response, and recovery activities recognizing the NSH and DHW dual governance structure. Participates in the incident management group for public health outbreak and emergency responses and provides technical and advisory support to the public health leadership team. Contributes to decision making regarding the allocation of public health human resources and reassignment of human resources to support emergency responses in addition to providing recommendations of budgetary allocations for emergency preparedness activities. Ensures ongoing assessment of public health capacity and resource availability through engaging public health leadership. Provides supervisory support to assigned staff during public health emergency responses. About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following: Minimum of 3 years in emergency planning and health emergency planning is required Two or more years experience supervising staff in a unionized environment Minimum of 3 years experience working in intergovernmental relationships and strategic partnerships. Minimum of 3 years experience in planning and executing emergency preparedness activities including writing of plans, procedures, protocols, guidelines, and exercise related training. Demonstrated proficiency in the Core Competencies for Public Health, LEADS and Incident Management System. Minimum of 3 years experience working with vulnerable populations and applying a health equity lens in the development and implementation of plans. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders using a variety of methods. Demonstrated success in building strategic partnerships, networks, coalitions, and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners. Two or more years experience completing needs assessments to identify stakeholder learning needs and the development of training plans. Demonstrated judgment, decision making, and problem solving skills. Demonstrated planning, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to deal with competing priorities. Demonstrated innovative systems thinking with an understanding of working with Public Health emergency preparedness and response.
