Volunteer Position The DAN Department Student Council is a department student council dedicated to representing and providing social outlets for DAN School students! If you have an interest in joining our council, we encourage you to apply to any of the following positions! Applications will remain open until Sunday, July 7th at 4PM, 2024. Time Commitment 8 month term from September 1st, 2024 to April 30th, 2025. Please see Part 3: Hiring in the HR Policy Manual for in-depth eligibility criteria for the position pertaining to academic standing, work-study positions, exchange status, etc. Position(s) Available  Event Coordinator (2) - Apply to be a DAN DSC Event Coordinator to plan and execute engaging events for DAN School students, collaborating closely with another coordinator. This volunteer role requires a time commitment of 5-10 hours per week. Some responsibilities of the event coordinator include organizing events such as the end-of-year Formal and coordinating various planned events like the Gingerbread House Competition and Trivia Night. You'll also plan and execute additional innovative events each semester, ensuring inclusivity and effective budget management while maintaining communication with council leadership.Fundraising Coordinator (2) - Apply to be a DAN DSC Fundraising Coordinator to plan and execute engaging fundraising events that support council initiatives and foster community within the DAN School. This volunteer position requires a time commitment of 5-10 hours per week. Some responsibilities of the fundraising coordinator include collaborating with another coordinator to ensure financially viable events, maintaining communication with council leadership, and managing event logistics and budgets. Academics & Student Wellness Representative (1) - Apply to be the DAN DSC Academics & Student Wellness Representative to advocate for student concerns, promote wellness resources, and enhance the academic experience for DAN School students. This volunteer role, requiring 5-15 hours per week and some responsibilities of the role include representing student voices, attending meetings with staff, and organizing wellness initiatives and study nights to support student well-being and academic success.Equity & Access Coordinator (1) - Apply to be the DAN DSC Equity & Access Coordinator to promote inclusivity and accessibility within the DAN School, ensuring all students have access to resources and opportunities. This volunteer position, requiring 5-10 hours per week from September 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025, involves staying updated on equity resources, participating in hiring deliberations, recommending training, and collaborating on initiatives with council members.Marketing Coordinator (1) - Apply to be the DAN Department Student Council Marketing Coordinator to lead all marketing efforts, keeping students informed and engaged with council activities. This volunteer role requires 7-15 hours per week, including bi-weekly Sunday meetings, and involves planning and executing marketing initiatives, coordinating newsletters, and overseeing the graphic designer and photographer/videographer roles.Graphic Designer (1) - Apply to be a DAN Department Student Council Graphic Designer to create engaging content for events and initiatives, working closely with the Marketing Coordinator and Photographers/Videographers. This volunteer position requires 3-5 hours per week including bi-weekly Sunday meetings.Photographer/Videographer (1) - Apply to be a DAN Department Student Council Photographer/Videographer to document council events and initiatives, collaborating with the Marketing Coordinator and another Photographer/Videographer. This volunteer position requires 3-8 hours per week, including bi-weekly Sunday meetings, and offers opportunities for event planning and creative projects.Sustainability Coordinator (1) - Apply to be the DAN Department Student Council Sustainability Coordinator to promote resource reuse, track inventory, facilitate recycling efforts, and incorporate sustainable practices in council events.
