Our distinctive ICU offers first-rate care in an innovative environment supporting the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of the community. We are dedicated to building a diverse workforce that reflects the community in which we live and serve.Position SummaryReporting to the Clinical Manager of the Intensive Care Unit, the ideal candidate will be focused on providing superior patient centered care in a dynamic, complex and rapidly changing environment where they will be given the opportunity to drive innovation and change.Qualifications:Graduate of a recognized College or School of Nursing and preferably hold a Baccalaureate degreeRegistered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or currently meet the eligibility criteria to register in good standing in the Temporary Class or General Class with the CNOBCLS requiredACLS required within 6 months of hire3-5 years Intensive Care Unit nursing experience or successful completion of a recognized intensive care course with 1 year of ICU nursing experience preferredMust be able to interpret advanced arrhythmias and 12 lead ECGExperienced with monitors, pumps, ECG machines, phlebotomy, and invasive pressure monitoring ventilators.CCRN certification preferredMust possess excellent decision making & problem solving skillsMust have strong leadership & assessment skillsMust have a history of ongoing professional development and be a self-directed learnerAbility to work within a multidisciplinary team and Commitment to customer service and teamworkDemonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbalKnowledge and skill of PRISMA or CRRT an assetDemonstrated skills in providing patient education and sharing knowledge of expected outcomes and care.Advanced physical assessment skillsPositive attendance and work record essential Responsibilities:Assessing a patient’s condition and planning and implementing patient care plansObserving and recording patient vital signsAdministering intravenous fluids and medicationsResponding to life-saving situations, using nursing standards and protocols for treatmentCollaborating with fellow members of the critical care teamProviding education and support to patient familiesActing as patient advocateDemonstrate a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as requiredTo pursue this career opportunity, please visit our website: www.trilliumhealthpartners.ca Candidates are selected on the basis of their skill, ability, experience and qualifications.Where these factors are relatively equal seniority shall govern providing the successful applicant.
