Working together to provide outstanding integrated health care to our communities delivering the best patient outcomes with exemplary standards and compassion, Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is a multi-site organization that includes Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site and South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Site.  ROLEPerform accident investigations and workplace inspections ensuring appropriate follow-up Administer MAHC’s attendance management program in conjunction with the Manager of each assigned departmentCoordinate with Infection & Prevention Control on issues related to infectious outbreaksCoordinate the implementation of WSIB related programs Assist with training of staff related to workplace safety programsCoordinate the Early and Safe Return to Work requirements for unionized employeesAttend MAHC OHS related committees Monitor needlestick and bodily fluid exposures and compliance with post exposure protocol programAssist in the development and implementation of wellness and preventative health programsProvide guidance and assistance in the development and maintenance of workplace safety policies and programsAssist with vaccinations and conduct mask fit testingCoordinate with the Ministry of Labour Training and Skills Development in ensuring MAHC compliance with OHSA REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)  Four-year Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Occupational Health or other related health professionCurrent Certificate of Competence with the applicable RHPA CollegeNIDMAR certification, or equivalent  REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)At least 3 years of experience in health and safety coordination in unionized environmentIn-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and complianceCoordination of OHS activities in healthcare environment an assetStrong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and educate employees on safety proceduresAbility to conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation plansProficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with safety management softwareDetail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team to ensure a safe work environment for all employeesPrevious absence management experienceWorking knowledge of Early and Safe Return to Work plans and related legislationExcellent verbal and written communication skills ADDITIONAL PERKS AT MAHCStaff referral program (Earn up to $1000 for each successful permanent part-time and permanent full-time new hire you refer to MAHC)Extended health benefits Enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) Collaborative and supportive team environment   WHY IS MAHC RIGHT FOR YOU? Imagine working in a place you love to visit on vacation!
