Director of Certification

The Federation of Rental-housing Providers of Ontario (FRPO) is the largest association in Ontario representing those who own, manage, build and finance residential rental properties and their industry partners. FRPO works on behalf of members to promote a balanced and healthy housing market with a vital rental-housing industry.FRPO is seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Certification to join the team. The Director of Certification will play a critical leadership role in managing and expanding The Canadian Certified Rental Building™ (CCRB) program, including the Living GREEN Together™ sustainability initiative. This individual will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of quality, excellence, service, and sustainability within Ontario's purpose-built rental housing industry.Job Summary:Lead, direct, promote, represent & prudently manage all aspects of The Canadian Certified RentalBuilding™ program (CCRB) including the Living GREEN Together™ sustainability program.Responsible for the operation, expansion and enhancement of CCRB as a national program that promotes quality, excellence, service and sustainability within the purpose-built multi-unit residential rental housing industry.Responsible for ensuring the program’s structure, as well as operating standards, principles and procedures accurately represent the differing legislative and operating environments across provinces.Lead various education efforts that enhance industry professional and promote a positive public image with government officials and the public.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesOversee CCRB program operating in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia and NewBrunswick and its continued national expansion; including launch events.Manage building certification process including third party auditor process, training and auditors.Oversee the development and implementation of nation-wide and province-specific standards of practice and program operating proceduresManage all program communications and marketing campaigns.Recruit new members to the program and facilitate their achievement of certification.Work with FRPO Certification Committee comprised of industry members who volunteer their time to support and provide oversight to the program.Authorize the development and distribution of CRBP certification and Living Green Together certificates to qualified CRBP members and buildings Attend at conferences, industry tradeshows and potentially at provincial “owner/landlord” AGM/event to promote the program and to garner increased supportPrepare and manage annual budget.Vendor Contract Management.Design/development/implementation of CRB related educational programs and materials.Provide an e-learning portfolio of training courses (as budget permits).Conduct webinars on timely topics for members and the industry.Create and implement annual marketing programs directed at members & residents.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.Minimum of 7 years of experience in program management, preferably within the real estate or property management industry.Excellent understanding of building and property management operations and expectations.Knowledge of ESG and its role/use in real estate/property management industryKnowledge and understanding of diverse legislative, regulatory, property standards and by-law requirements that impact multi-unit residential rentals, real estate and property management sectors (such as RTA, Apartment By-Laws, Fire, Code, Building Code, Asbestos Requirements, Roof Anchor and Boiler/HVAC requirements, etc.Proven ability to manage and grow programs operating in multiple provinces and on a national scale.Strong project management skills with experience in coordinating events and managing budgets.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government officials and industry members, property management and building staff and potentially residents.Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000/annum (based on experience)Please apply with your resume and a cover letter.Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.We thank all interested applicants, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
