Success in this role requires individuals to possess a blend of profound technical expertise, curiosity about the developer ecosystem, and substantial experience in large-scale operations.DescriptionWe are a highly collaborative team that works closely with multiple teams in order to bring new features to life in TestFlight. We build micro services that interact with App Store Connect on the frontend and with databases and other micro services on the backend. As Senior Software Engineer, you will be expected to:Collaborate to solve complex problems with the opportunity to invent innovative solutionsEvolve the design and architecture to support the continued growth of our productSupport ongoing maintenance and release activitiesMentor less experienced software engineersPartner with teams across Apple to develop features and functionality to enable new developer experiences in the TestFlight ecosystemDoes this sound like you? Join our team!Minimum QualificationsYou will have expert experience with Java or equivalent object-oriented languages5+ years crafting, implementing and supporting highly scalable backend applicationsDeep understanding of HTTP and REST APIsDeep understanding of design patternsAbility to design and establish coding patterns/standards across multiple code repositoriesYou will mentor team members on writing code that is efficient, maintainable and testableAbility to re-architect an expansive code base while transitioning to technologies/frameworksExperience with NoSQL & big data technologies like Cassandra, Kafka, Hadoop and SparkShown grasp of multi-threaded programming conceptsAbility to flourish with highly collaborative, multi-functional projects that are high profile and critical to the App StorePreferred QualificationsExperience with CI/CD is a plusExperience with server-side Swift and Rust is a plusExperience with relational databases like Oracle, PostgreSQL is a plusExperience with Kubernetes is a plusExperience with TensorFlow is a plusAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,500 and $215,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple Inc.’s discretionary employee stock programs.
