Serving as a member of the International Education department, the Coordinator of International Education will coordinate various international student programs and initiatives, support daily department operations, and contribute to the growth of long-term VISA students by actively participating in various student recruitment efforts. Collaborate with elementary and secondary school staff to ensure support of long-term students, while also providing support to school staff when hosting a short-term group. Lead and develop innovative ideas and initiatives for the short-term integration program to establish our school district as a leader in the field. Supervise International Program Assistants and International Program English Instructors for short-term programs as directed by the Administrator of International Education. Coordinate visits from various stakeholders, such as international guests, agents, students and chaperones attending or interested in attending Niagara Catholic programs. Recommend and provide enhancements for student recruitment initiatives. Provide support with marketing strategies, which result in an increase of long-term VISA students and the continuity of short-term groups attending our program. Implement an international student club offering various activities, field trips and other opportunities for student engagement. Supervise daily operations of the International Education department by monitoring all student activities off-campus, including residence accommodation, Niagara Catholic school spaces and/or other secondary facilities utilized throughout the year. Provide oversight to Administrative Assistant and secretarial staff as needed. May be required to work or be on-call some evenings and weekends, especially while hosting short-term groups. May be required to travel to represent Niagara Catholic at relevant events. Must have access to reliable transportation at all times and be able to lift and transport educational materials between locations. May be called to perform other duties as assigned. WHAT YOU BRING: Completion of a university degree or college diploma. A degree in Education, Linguistics, TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language), Business, Commerce, Marketing, Recreational Studies and/or Events Planning diploma is preferred. Experience in K-12 sector is preferred. Excellent communication skills. Ability to address large groups of students, agents and international educators. Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to speak a second language (Spanish, French, Mandarin, other) considered an asset. Experience in international education sector considered an asset. This is a part time, permanent position. HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (25 hours per week). Some occasional after-hours work may be required.
