Daycare Director

Bean Sprouts Childcare Co-op (BSCC) is an Early Childhood Education centre that operates as a nonprofit, parent-guided Cooperative. We are seeking a Full- time Daycare Director who is passionate about early childhood education, and is ready to take responsibility for the management, supervision, and administration of our daycare facility. As Daycare Director, you’ll be supported by a collaborative board made up of parents and caregivers.Duties include, but are not limited to:- Ensuring the center is upholding government licensing regulations, and childcare standards- Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and scheduling staff- Maintaining accurate records (child files, staff files, attendance, receipts, banking, etc)- Planning and implementing educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development- Conducting regular safety inspections, and implementing emergency procedures and protocols- Maintaining positive relationships with parents through open communication, collaboratively addressing concerns, and using a holistic solution-focused approach to meet children's needs. Qualifications:- Early Childhood Education level III, or willingness to obtain- Preference given to candidates with proven experience managing a daycare or early childhood education centre- Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sectors check- First aid and CPR certification- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices- Ability to effectively communicate with board of directors, staff, parents and children- A genuine love for working with children- Patience, flexibility, and the ability to handle challenging situations- A commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children Pay: This is a salaried position commensurate with experience.
