The Program Admin Officer is responsible for delivering Business Development Programs on behalf of Tourism Nova Scotia by administering, delivering, and promoting business development programs, initiatives, and projects. As the Program Admin Officer you offer coaching to help tourism businesses and organizations to build capacity and enhance the business readiness of the industry, and to support businesses in their efforts to understand the tools available to them to reach the goals as mentioned above. The Program Admin Officer works in a constantly changing global tourism environment which can lead to changing business policies and emerging trends. With these challenges, the incumbent must quickly adapt to new circumstances and contribute to new programming and be open to receiving training on new technologies and trends in tourism.  As the Program Admin Officer you establish and maintain a positive professional relationships with stakeholders from other provincial and municipal government departments and sector organizations. This position reports to the Manager of Business DevelopmentPrimary Accountabilities Contributes to the creation of new programs, including performing research and jurisdictional scans on potential program opportunities.   Consults and advises on the development of program objectives, guidelines, and the implementation process. The Program officer is responsible for managing and organizing individual files throughout the life cycle of the agreement from receipt of application to closeout of the agreement.  Interviews, counsels, and assesses applicant eligibility for various Tourism Nova Scotia programs.Advises on improving processes to support effective program delivery and implementation. Manages priorities and works effectively to reach expected service standards for clients.Conducts logistics for industry outreach programs such as planning, promotion, venue hosting (in person or online), registration, industry communications, evaluation, and follow-up. Coordinates the implementation of program recommendations with staff, stakeholders, and program users through the development of program plans, reviewing and updating programs and with program evaluation.Under the direction of senior management, develops information materials (guides, manuals, tip sheets, etc.) related to program requirements and procedures for both public and internal use.Qualifications and Experience To be successful in this role, you have a post-secondary degree plus one year of related experience. An acceptable equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.  The successful candidate should have experience working directly with businesses to improve quality, enhance capacity and foster their development/start-up by providing advice, guidance, and expertise.
