Applications for the above post are invited from enthusiastic, well-organised individuals who have an interest in the delivery of acute care and rehabilitation of the major trauma patient. Full registration with a licence to practice with the GMC is required. This post provides an exciting opportunity to provide dedicated leadership in the development of key aspects of responsive, high-quality and sustainable Major Trauma Unit (TU) care within Inverness for adults and paediatrics. The role involves oversight of the systems in place for clinical care of trauma patients from roadside to rehabilitation. Outside of this role, the post holder will already have clinical input into trauma care at Raigmore. The post holder will work closely with the North of Scotland Trauma Network Clinical Lead to provide dedicated clinical leadership to develop the TU component of the North of Scotland (NoS) Trauma Network. The Network comprises the areas served by NHS Grampian, NHS Highland, NHS Orkney, NHS Shetland and NHS Western Isles, to address all aspects of major trauma care provision, from prevention, pre-hospital care, immediate acute care and rehabilitation/ongoing care. The post will also act as clinical representative on the relevant Raigmore Hospital management group for implementation of the TU service.
