Company DescriptionLocated in the heart of Canada's capital next door to the Parliament Buildings, the landmark Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel in Ottawa is looking to fill two roles of Overnight Maintenance Technician / Shift Engineer for a total of 84 hours, calculated bi-weekly.Schedule:Starts at 8 PM and ends at 8 AM next morning, with working days as follows:Week 1: Mo-Tue-Wed-Thu (or Thu, Fri-Sat-Sun)Week 2: Mo-Tue-Wed (or Fri-Sat-Sun)What is in it for you:Wonderful company culture - our colleagues are at the heart of all that we doFood & Beverage discount of 50% in our restaurantsEmployee benefit card offering discounted rates in Accor worldwide for you and your familyLearning programs through our academies designed to sharpen your skillsAbility to make a difference through our Corporate Social Responsibility activities, like Planet 21Comprehensive extended health benefits packageFull rate of pay $33.24/hourJob DescriptionReporting to the Director, Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging serviceConduct rounds of specified areas including lightsAnswer all calls and perform repairs throughout the hotelPerform chemical tests for boilers, chillers, swimming pool, etc.Be part of the fire response team and stand by in the event of emergenciesConduct preventative maintenance as scheduled by Engineering DepartmentHave experience with chillers, boilers, and refrigeration systemsHave experience with HVAC systems and associated preventative maintenanceAble to perform minor plumbing, mechanical, and electrical repairsOther duties as assignedQualifications:Previous hotel experience is an assetGraduate from a technical schoolBuilding Operator Certificate or Maintenance Technician certification is an assetComputer literate with knowledge of BAS computer system, Microsoft Word, and OutlookMinimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance and repairsAdditional Information:Physical Aspects of Position (included but not limited to):Constant standing and walking throughout shiftMust be able to perform physically demanding work including frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, and liftingOccasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and rampsFairmont Château Laurier is proud to provide employment accommodation during the recruitment process.
