Then, this is the place to create the solutions the world needs today to enable a better tomorrow.Turn challenges into sustainable solutionsWe are looking for a Leading Bridge Engineer to join our team, allowing you to co-create some of the most prestigious infrastructure programmes in North America.Your key responsibilities will be to:Serve as Structures Lead and EoR on bridge and multi-disciplinary projects as they arise, directing and overseeing the work of the structures team along with mentoring and supervising a team of engineers on such assignments.Incorporate the project design requirements including design codes and project-specific contract requirements to ensure that the design meets or exceeds project standards.Research and review design options for technical, and financial feasibility and alignment with COWI's driving principles including sustainability and climate resiliency.Serve as Project Manager on assigned projects, prepare project schedule, budget, and monitor project progress and oversee project status meetings, prepare progress reports and supervise others.Coordinate with the CAD team to prepare drawing packages and BIM models. Preparing engineering reports.Effectively communicate and coordinate with internal team members and external stakeholders to meet the project needs including outreach to industry suppliers and collaborators as required.Prepare tender packages, including technical specifications, special provisions, bill of materials, Issued for Construction drawings, and record drawings.Your skills. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.On top of that, you will:Masters degree in Structural or Civil with a focus on Structural Engineering is an asset, with a minimum of 12 years of related experience in Bridge Design and Project Management, and be registered as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia.Have high technical abilities and experience in the design and construction of bridges and working with modern bridge design codes.Have experience with a wide range of structure types including, steel, precast and cast-in-place girder bridges, slab bridges, box structures, timber, retaining walls, and experience with designing culverts is an asset.Be experienced in designing and detailing of all typical structural components, including superstructures, substructures, foundations, and articulation systems. Have a thorough understanding of modern seismic design and detailing.Be proficient in the use of engineering software such as Excel, and Mathcad to efficiently produce engineering calculations is required. Proficiency in the use of analysis programs such as CSiBridge, MIDAS, SoFiSTiK, or similar is required.Have experience with preparing proposals, and the ability to lead business development activities is a valuable asset.A place to work and so much moreAt COWI, we work together with our customers to shape a sustainable and liveable world.
