Salary: Up to $90K (Based on Experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Organizing and maintaining litigation files
  • Preparing documents, pleadings, claims, motion materials, affidavits of documents, mediation, bills of costs and pre-trial memoranda
  • Summarization of transcripts of examinations for discovery and preparation of lists of undertakings and refusals
  • Ensuring compliance with undertakings given at discovery and organization and evaluation of materials received in response to undertakings
  • Management of electronic data for Discovery and Trial
  • Trial preparation
  • Assist in the overall management of litigation practice

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in Insurance Defence as a Law Clerk
  • Knowledge of Summation, Eclipse and other industry standard litigation support software experience an asset
  • Well organized, able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Strong investigative, fact-finding and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to process a high volume of documentation with excellent attention to detail
  • Efficient docketing and time management skills
