The Opportunity Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Mill Maintenance Shutdown Coordinator at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday Schedule. Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position. Position Shutdown Coordinator Location Copper Mountain Mine, is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan. Summary Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Planning and Reliability Supervisor, the Mill Maintenance Shutdown Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all aspects of the Mill and Crusher Shutdowns are organized and ready for safe and efficient execution. Key Responsibilities Practices safe work behaviours and supports the Copper Mountain Mine safety culture through facilitating daily and monthly safety meetings and initiatives, Adhere strictly to PPE requirements in all areas while on mine property, Follow all Company policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), Developing a shutdown execution plans, coordinating with various departments to finalize the shutdown scopes, implementing, coordinating contractors, and maintaining the shutdown schedules, Holding shutdown communication meetings, and leading coordination activities during the shutdown, Supports the team to create a shutdown schedule of approved work orders and PM’s for execution, Reviews the work order status report to ensure work is being scheduled for upcoming shutdowns, assists in setting an integrated schedule, and tracks upcoming work, Identifies and escalates all critical issues that impede the execution of the planned shutdown work, Works collaboratively across departments to ensure the proper communication of timing and impact of shutdown tasks,  Assist in execution, supervision, and leadership for shutdown activities, willing to work overtime, weekends and evenings when required to ensure successful shutdowns, Print & compile organized work packages for weekly and shutdown work, Coordinate annual & compliance NDT inspections, Plans tasks to minimize the demand for resources and the impact on operating performance without jeopardizing the condition of the equipment, Performs any other responsibilities related to shutdown coordination as required or as assigned by the Planning and Reliability Supervisor, Education & Experience Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyperson certification, Minimum 5 years of related experience with milling, crushing, conveying and pumping equipment in the mining industry, Demonstrates a dedication to promoting safety in the workplace, Previous planning or coordinator experience in the mining industry would be considered an asset, High level of proficiency in computer application, High level of proficiency in Maximo or other similar CMMS systems, Previous supervisory experience is considered an asset, Experience using a scheduling software such as MS Projects or others considered an asset, Possess a valid Class 5/7N British Columbia driver’s license and have access to personal transportation. Required Skills Able to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills, Strong comprehension of both, the principles of preventative maintenance and maintenance planning, Strong interdepartmental communication and coordination, fostering collaboration to meet organizational objectives, Excellent communication skills and the ability to chair meetings, Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, Able to work efficiently and in a safe manner without supervision, Able to work collaboratively with other team members in a positive manner, Must work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and possess a strong work ethic. Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to a team environment with regularly scheduled and ad-hoc meetings, Frequent exposure to sitting at a computer doing work online, Frequent exposure to lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds, Exposure to uncomfortable conditions associated with the work environment such as working in noisy, dusty, and wet environments, Routine driving in the pit to/and from Warehouse/Truck Shop, Routine exposure to periods of high intensity requiring a temporary work overload on several days, Regular exposure to multiple priorities requiring scheduling changes and uncertainty in the work organization, Must be clean shaven. Rate of Pay $115K – 125K / annum.
