The Student Wellness and Equitable Learning (SWEL) department is dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. The cross-functional team includes Student Connection and Community Care, Residence Life and Education, Accessible Learning Services, Mental Health and Counselling, Health Services and Wellness Education and Programs. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join the Wellness Education and Programs team to create impactful programs, services and resources that empower the Humber student community and promote a culture of well-being. Job Details Position Title : Coordinator, Peer Wellness Education and Programs Job Type : FT Support Hours : up to 35 hours per week Faculty/Department : Student Wellness and Equitable Learning Campus/Location : Mainly North and Lakeshore Campus with occasional visits to the International Graduate School Salary : Payband I (Start $38.01 Max $44.05) Schedule : Primarily in-person with occasional remote hours and weekends in alignment with SWEL obligations (e.g. Open House) and operational hours 8:30am to 6:30pm What you will do : Reporting to the Manager, Wellness Education and Programs, the Coordinator, Peer Wellness Education and Programs works to conceptualize, develop, implement, deliver, and evaluate content related to resiliency, well-being, mental health, harm reduction and sexual violence prevention. This role will execute campus-wide outreach events (Take Back the Night, Humber Let’s Talk etc.) and facilitate upstream educational trainings (e.g., Bystander Training etc.). The incumbent will also oversee our peer-led services and provide functional guidance as well as training towards a peer support team. Working as a member of a cross-functional unit, the role liaises collaboratively with campus and community stakeholders to ensure programs are delivered and that these programs meet institutional objectives. Qualifications What you will bring to the role: Education ·Successful completion of a university degree in an academic discipline that is transferable to the role (e.g., education, psychology, public health, health promotion, social work) Experience ·Minimum 5 years of prior experience in a postsecondary, community, healthcare, or wellness environment ·Knowledge of intersectional, anti-oppressive and anti-racist best practices ·Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and evaluate wellbeing programs which translate student development, health promotion, and health behavior change theory to practice. ·Excellent knowledge of harm reduction, sexual health, resiliency, mental health, consent, and healthy relationship practices ·Experience creating content for a variety of instructional methods including in-person curriculum and workshops, online learning, videos, social media, web, and print. ·Strong understanding of program efficacy in wellness programming. ·Capable of student-centered, evidence-based, and trauma-informed professional practice. ·Familiar with best practices in program development, implementation, evaluation, and course development and delivery. ·Knowledge of Stepped Care 2.0, Canadian Mental Health Standard, Okanagan Charter, Courage to Act frameworks and relevant privacy legislation (i.e, FIPPA, PHIPA) is an asset. ·Excellent conflict resolution, interpersonal, client relationship, and communication skills (oral, written, and presentation). ·Excellent team building skills. ·Excellent project management skills, including budget administration. ·Ability to engage and build rapport with various stakeholders and members of the postsecondary community. ·Good knowledge of principles and practices of administration in a post-secondary educational environment. Proficient in the use of Word, Canva, Excel and One Drive. ·Experience with recruiting, hiring, training, and supporting a student staff team.
