Job Title: Healthcare Benefits & Programs Specialist- CanadaSummaryBenefits & Programs Specialist- Canada will facilitate the implementation and management of benefit programs and services across Canada and various international locations. Ensures quality and process efficiency in support of HR operations, services and tools. Provides benefit program administration, operational services, and support. Follows best practices and standard work to improve customer service levels and delivery processes and services. Essential Responsibilities: Partner with plan administrator to deliver first class benefits to participants utilizing relationship management, lean metrics, escalation management, and oversight of daily operations. Monitor plan compliance and inform leadership and stakeholders of gaps and new requirements. Coordinate, monitor and report annual health and welfare audits and processes. Track known risk items to closure assisting team with mitigation plans. Update and provide communication and system documentation to support annual enrollment and regulatory requirements. Track and coordinate annual health and welfare handbook changes with subject matter experts and legal.Partner through daily interaction with vendors to deliver standard and efficient services and standard work.Analyze and resolve benefit and eligibility issues.Respond to client inquires within reasonable timeframes. Develop and follow problem resolution/case escalation procedures.Project and Plan implementations– support benefit plan change requirements and implementations through testing and pre/post implementation validations.Provide benefit and eligibility administration governance and testing, ensuring compliance of benefit system plan rules (eligibility, enrollment, deductions, etc.). Maintain and update lean boards, measuring daily/weekly workload to monitor key performance indicators.Identifying trends and opportunities to drive process improvements around key processes.Develop, implement, and maintain functional standard work.Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related business degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience in Human Resources/Benefits Administration.Proficient in both written and verbal communication skills in Canadian French and EnglishDesired Characteristics:Demonstrated knowledge and experience conducting regulatory, legal, or business research.Ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to leaders/stakeholders. Ability to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters.Experience in reconciling and interpreting data sets, analytics, and performance metrics.Knowledge of typical benefit offerings, administration, industry practices, products, and methodologies.Ability to drive Lean methodologies with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.Ability to effectively project manage small to mid-scale workstreams within projects.Strong written communication skills, delivering concise written material with recommendations to drive to a decision/solution. Strong collaboration with cross functional teams.
