Director, Finance and Operations

POSITION: Director, Finance and Operations DIVISION: Aquilini Investment Group REPORTS TO: Vice President SUMMARY: The Aquilini Group is one of Canada’s leading privately held companies, with business lines organized into Sports Entertainment, Real Estate Development, Property Management, Hospitality, and Agriculture. We are looking for a talented, dynamic and ambitious individual who is ready to take the next step in their career and be on an executive track at Aquilini Group. This position will report to the Vice President and will combine financial analysis with operational leadership. This position is ideal for someone with an accounting designation or a strong finance and cost accounting background who wishes to expand their experience into other areas of business, including marketing strategy, logistics, property development, and government relations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned as required) Support Executives and possibly Ownership by providing recommendations on financial and operational matters Maximize net income where possible and appropriate including developing and implementing cost control strategies Develop and lead product marketing initiatives Establish capital budgets, oversee internal or external financing, and monitor projects until completion Produce accurate and consistent reporting on operational results, and develop recommendations for action for the internal leadership team and Ownership Provide creative alternatives and recommendations for new business opportunities Establish and maintain relations with elected and non-elected government officials Perform due diligence on acquisitions or new major capital projects Monitor risk management policies and procedures to ensure that organizational risks are minimized Undertake special project work as required REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Professional accounting designation: CPA or equivalent education and/or experience Strong people skills and ability to liaise with customers, partners and staff at all levels Proven experience in managing, leading and motivating staff Experience with process analysis and improvement Experience with executive presentations Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and accounting systems Ability to handle conflicting deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively What We Offer: At Aquilini, we believe in the importance of a Total Compensation package by ensuring our mix of salary, benefits, and perks are competitive within the market, while also offering a work-life balance.
