There are exciting opportunities for Gjoa Haven’s economic growth in the areas of tourism, fisheries development, carver and other arts programs, hospitality, and construction/contracting. The Hamlet wishes to employ a motivated individual with skills and experience in the areas of office administration, proposal writing, and project management to lead Economic Development initiatives in the community.Duties include:Facilitating community and economic development planningResearching and providing recommendations to the Community Economic Development Committee on local opportunitiesAssessing the results of economic development studies and agreements and making recommendationsPromoting community and business opportunitiesCommunity relationsWriting proposals/seeking funding and building partnerships for initiatives in the community that support local employmentThe wages for this position are dependent on skills, training, and experience and range from $34.31 per hour to $41.74 per hour.
