Senior Underwriter

We are seeking a skilled Senior Underwriter to join our client's prestigious insurance firm, known for its strong market reputation. This role involves underwriting, managing, and expanding a portfolio of Fronting (Captive & Self-Insured Retention) business through renewals and new acquisitions. The ideal candidate will handle a diverse range of Casualty and Specialty products, with a focus on Property, General Liability, and Financial Lines. In addition to portfolio management, the role includes assessing credit risk and determining collateral requirements with counterparties.Duties and Responsibilities:Underwrite and manage an assigned portfolio of new and renewal business, including risk analysis, policy term negotiations, and determining fees and collateral to ensure profitability and alignment with the client's corporate strategy.Collaborate with internal underwriting teams to identify and leverage cross-marketing opportunities.Strengthen our position as a leading insurer in alternative risk solutions and fronting by building and maintaining robust relationships with target brokers and clients.Work with underwriting, finance, reinsurance, and claims departments to ensure a thorough understanding of fronted risks and compliance with policy forms.Mentor and develop other members of the Alternative Risk Solutions & Programs team, including underwriters and underwriting assistants, in P&C product knowledge and underwriting skills.Skills & Qualifications:3-4 years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in broking or underwriting, with a focus on P&C coverages.Strong relationships with market and brokers are advantageous.
