While the responsibilities and scope of this role are great, so are the rewards – the ability to shape TELUS’ SmartHome product vision, to create first-of-it’s-kind products that enable the broad ambition of TELUS’s expanding Smart Home business, and the leadership of a high-performance team that will realize this product vision and deliver the associated business results.What you’ll doAs Director, SmartHome Products, you will manage our leading portfolio of products, spearhead the growth strategy and drive the development of innovative SmartHome solutions. You will champion a team of exceptional product professionals, collaborating with design, development and go-to-market teams in creating globally leading software products and services that can transform the global SmartHome sector. You’ll focus on defining the product vision, delivering exceptional consumer experiences, developing high performing software product management teams, defining priorities, and enabling market outcomes that propel the business forward.You’ll recruit, develop and support a talented group of product managers in creating and bringing the vision for innovative new services to life, by discovering high growth opportunities and delivering new smart home automation and security solutions. You and your team will shape the product portfolio, and identify adjacent services for the current value proposition as well as future service evolution.What you bringKnown for your ability to build and foster an environment of innovation by:championing a compelling vision and strategy which the organization can rally behinddemonstrating an ability to architect, build and deploy innovative consumer facing products; ideally in the smart home or connected home spaceproviding guidance and direction to your team and creating a culture of business ownership at all levels, with exceptional customer focususing the latest scalable software development processes to empower and enable independent, high performing teams to achieve exceptional outcomesbeing a voice for inclusivity, creating an environment where people are comfortable sharing ideas, bringing forward opportunities and solutionsYou are a great teacher of the Software Product Management discipline and have an eye for talent, with proven ability to attract and recruit the best in the gameRecognized for your ability to present ideas and opportunities to all levels of an organization, with an ability to create a development roadmap and translate it into implementation and delivery objectivesTalented at bringing people together, rallying them around ideas and building relationships across internal teams and leading edge partnersThe ability to evaluate and collaboratively evolve product strategy, to set clear and challenging goals, to relentlessly focus and prioritize effort, foster partnership and oversee enterprise wide programs and to be tenacious and accountable in enabling resultsQualificationsGreat to haveSignificant software product management experience (10+ years)Undergrad degree in technical or business discipline e.g. software development, computer science, engineering, marketing, economics, business, etc.7+ years experience in senior management capacity leading high-performance teamsDemonstrated expertise launching disruptive and innovative consumer products and/or servicesExperience developing product partnerships and complex commercial agreementsExperience in product and user experience designWorking knowledge and ideally experience working in one or more of the industries of home automation, smart energy, wearables, IoT, SmartHome security, or home networkingBackground in technical product development, architecture or software developmentCompensationSalary Range: $128,000-$192,000Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 30%Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
