Subject line: Shop Foreman.  Job Summary: Reporting to the General Manager, the Shop Foreman will play a vital role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of our shop. The successful candidate will supervise tradespeople, foster a positive work environment, and prioritize work to be completed. Focused on shop safety, the Shop Foreman will have previous technical experience in an industrial heavy machinery shop and be able to easily answer customer questions and diagnose and troubleshoot challenges.Why Choose T-MAR Industries Ltd:- T-MAR ideals: Respect each other, Trust each other, Give a shit- Full-time, on-site, long-term career opportunity- Monday-Friday- Competitive salary ($115,000-$150,000)- Extended health, vision, and dental benefits - Progressive, well-established local company that cares about employees and our community COMPETENCIES·        Demonstrated ability to lead team; motivate and coach employees, coordinate activities, provide guidance and training as needed, and foster a positive work environment·        Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and create rapport and develop relationships with team, management and customers ·        Customer service oriented, working to find solutions to help customers with their needs·        High regard for safety; Knowledge of relevant safety regulations, compliance standards, and environmental guidelines ·        Experienced tradesperson with industrial manufacturing and repair experience·        Strategic thinker, with experience budgeting, forecasting and resource allocation, able to participate and add to executive planning sessions·        Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to finding solutions·        Adaptable, flexible in dealing with a changing workload and able to prioritize tasks appropriately ·        Sound decision-making skills, with the ability to make informed judgments and handle unexpected situations or challengesDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESLEADERSHIP 1.     Manage and motivate the team, providing guidance, support, and provide or arrange training as needed 2.     Allocate work assignments and ensure that work is performed in accordance with established procedures and quality standards 3.     Collaborate with other departments or teams, such as parts procurement or sales, to facilitate smooth workflow and customer satisfaction 4.     Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe and clean working environment for both employees and customersOPERATIONS:1.     Monitor and review the progress of work orders, ensuring that deadlines are met, and any issues or delays are promptly addressed2.     Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and completed repairs to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications3.     Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair projects, ensuring that resources, equipment, and materials are available and utilized efficiently4.     Maintain and update service records, including work orders, repair logs, and customer information, ensuring accuracy and completeness5.     Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices, continuously enhancing your knowledge and skills to improve shop operationsSALES:1.         Provide service and quotes to customers regarding product manufacturing and/or repairsQUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:·        Technical or vocational training in a machining, mechanical, fabrication/welding field·        Proven experience as a Red Seal journeyperson, with a strong understanding of manufacturing systems and repair procedures (10+ years)·        Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a shop or service center environment (5+ years)·        Valid driver's license and clean driving record.·        Strong knowledge of shop equipment and tools, including diagnostic equipment and hand tools, and machine diagnostic techniquesADDITIONAL INFORMATION/WORK CONDITIONS:1.         This role is on-site/in-shop, Campbell River, BC
