Associate Lawyer - Family

Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Family Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation to clients in family law matters.ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage and maintain a high-volume case loadDraft and respond to correspondencePrepare pleadings, financial disclosures, mediation, and trial briefsTelephone and in-person contact with clients, opposing counsel, and the courtsPrepare witness questions for evidentiary hearings, depositions, and trialsAdministrative practice management tasks including billing and reporting to clientsQualificationsMust be admitted to Ontario Bar2-3+ Years Practicing Family LawEmpathetic, and level-headed demeanor to properly handle sensitive family law mattersPossess strong analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skillsAttention to detail and excellent proofreading skillsStrong organization and teamwork skillsAbility multi-task and meet tight deadlinesExperience in estate planning and/or real estate law would be an assetWhy Join Us: Monteith Ritsma Phillips proudly serves Southwestern Ontario and has offices in Stratford, Mitchell, Listowel, and Tavistock.
