Are you a motivational leader who has strong full-cycle accounting, as well as payroll knowledge & experience?We are seeking a Financial Controller who will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and payroll functions. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage a small team while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. You will play a key role in supporting the company's financial goals and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements!If you are a Financial Controller in the Brantford area and the above describes you well, this may be a great role for you to consider!Advantages- Competitive base salary - Annual bonus- Health and dental benefits- RRSP match program- CPA annual dues support and professional development courses- Flexible hybrid working arrangementResponsibilitiesReporting to the CFO, your duties and responsibilities will include;Accounting Oversight:- Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.- Manage the year-end audit process, coordinating with external auditors and preparing all necessary documentation.- Maintain and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.Budgeting and Forecasting:- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop realistic and achievable budgets.- Prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts, analyzing variances between actual results and budget/forecast figures.- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and business planning.Payroll Management:- Oversee the payroll function, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing for all employees.- Ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations, including tax filings and benefit deductions.- Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.Team Leadership:- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3 accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and capabilities.- Conduct regular performance reviews, setting clear goals and providing constructive feedback.Compliance and Risk Management:- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, including GAAP and local tax laws.- Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing best practices in risk management and internal controls.- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and ensure the company remains compliant.System Improvements:- Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.- Lead or support the implementation of new financial software or tools as needed.Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is preferred.- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.- Experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry is a strong asset.- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.- Strong knowledge of ASPE and financial reporting standards.- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.- Proven ability to lead and develop a small team.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.SummaryIf this sounds like an exciting opportunity and a great match for you, please apply to or share with your network, today!Randstad Canada is committed to fostering a workforce reflective of all peoples of Canada.
