The opportunity To continue its strong growth, Laps is looking for a Product Designer who understands both the business and customer needs and expectations. With this knowledge, the candidate will then design the future interfaces of our multiple e-commerce platforms and describe their functionalities. This key position combines expertise in aesthetic, intuitive and user-friendly interface design, and building these designs into clearly understood business requirements. Reporting to the VP of Growth and working in close collaboration with the IT and Product team, the Product Designer must demonstrate a high degree of autonomy in planning and executing deliverables. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative, user-centered design solutions for our web products. This role requires a strong understanding of user experience design principles, a keen eye for aesthetics, and the ability to effectively communicate design ideas to cross-functional teams—all with the goal of enhancing the user experience on our web platforms. Responsibilities User Experience Design: Collaborate with product and development teams to create intuitive and engaging user experiences. Design user journeys that meet customer needs while aligning with the company's objectives. Wireframes and Prototypes Creation: Develop wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to visualize and test design concepts. User Research: Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand user needs and behaviors. Use the collected data to inform and optimize design decisions. User Testing and Iteration: Plan and conduct user tests to gather feedback. Analyze the results and make continuous improvements to the designs based on user feedback. Development and Maintenance of Design System: Create and maintain style guides and component libraries to ensure brand and design consistency across all products. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with our second in-house designer, developers, product managers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the final design is technically feasible and meets project requirements. Trend Monitoring and Best Practices: Stay updated on the latest UX/UI design trends and integrate best practices into the design process. Documentation and Communication: Document design processes and decisions. Clearly communicate design concepts and justifications to internal teams and stakeholders. Your profile A Product Designer who can challenge the status quo and is constantly looking for ways to improve. A sharp critical thinker with the ability to conduct independent user research. With: 3-4 years of experience in UX/UI analysis and design for web projects; Experience designing for e-commerce or web products, with a solid understanding of UX best practices for e-commerce; A strong portfolio showcasing creative, user-centered design solutions for moderately complex problems; Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; Ability to autonomously handle various UX design tasks for medium-complexity problems, such as user research, brainstorming, concept design, detailed design, rapid prototyping, and usability testing; Skills in identifying opportunities, defining problems, finding solutions, and implementing them; Strong understanding of e-commerce processes and challenges; Excellent communication skills and the ability to advocate for UX/UI principles; Bilingual in French and English; Experience working in JIRA (a plus); Proficiency in industry-standard UX and UI design tools such as Figma. What to Expect During the Hiring Process Here’s what you can expect during our hiring process: It consists of two rounds of interviews, including a portfolio presentation. These conversations will help us better understand your experience, skills, and discuss your past work. In the third round, you will also be asked to complete a case study or a UX/UI test to demonstrate your problem-solving abilities and interface design skills.
