Adecco is currently hiring for a temporary, full-time Electrical Systems Engineer our client located in Ajax, ON.

The Electrical Systems Engineer will integrate aircraft systems, coordinate with suppliers, prepare technical presentations, design landing gear schematics, review certification documents, and define test criteria.

The ideal candidate will have a background in aerospace engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Engineering Physics, or Engineering Science).

  • Shifts: Monday – Thursday (7:30am – 4:00pm) | Friday (7:30am – 12:30pm)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for systems integration into the aircraft and with other aircraft systems

  • Prepare technical presentations for the customer including coordination of the supplier input

  • Coordinate review of supplier technical documentation

  • Participate in test and development including integrated testing of aircraft systems as required

  • Prepare/review certification documentation as applicable to the landing gear system

  • Drive the detailed definition and review of designs, specifications and documentation, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for the landing gear (including landing gear control and indication, brake control, nose gear steering) subsystems and aircraft interface, with a specific focus on avionics and electrical systems.

  • Liaise with external customers/suppliers as well as internal communications departmentally

  • Define and review test criteria for electrical control systems in relation against industry guidelines RTCA DO-160 and DO-178, DO-254

  • Involved in existing programs and proposals

  • Carry out trade studies to establish preferred systems architecture based on safety performance and aircraft level requirements

  • Specify and integrate test instrumentation

  • Active participation in test and development

Qualifications &  Skills:

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

  • Aerospace engineering background with a minimum 10 years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Engineering Physics or Engineering Science)

  • Familiarity with Landing Gear mechanics including actuators, uplocks and downlocks

  • Familiarity with ARINC 653

  • Familiarity with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) platforms

  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink.

  • Experience with DOORS requirements management software.

  • Understanding and ability to apply safety, reliability and maintainability concepts

  • Strong knowledge of applicable aerospace standards and airworthiness requirements including DO-178, DO-254, ARP-4754 and ARP-4761.

  • Expert level knowledge of use and application of RTCA DO-160 for control systems

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
