The Assistant Shelter Manager provides a safe and secure environment for residents and visitors. Education/Certifications:
The successful job applicant will have completed a
#J-18808-Ljbffr- Post secondary diploma (e.g., B.A., B.Sc .B.Sc.N.)
- Certification as an Addictions Counsellor (Check school program requirements) will be an asset.
- At least three years of prior related experience, including at least 2 years of experience in a social service settings supervision, budgeting, working with marginalized clientele, and a social services background.
- The incumbent has input to and/or participates in budgets with respect to the departmental budget.
- The performance of the job requires moderate amounts of keyboarding and walking, and occasionally climbing stairs, standing, and lifting more or around 20-30 lbs.
- The performance of the job requires continuously monitoring the environment, multitasking, and a moderate amount of attention when reading, and close listening.
- Attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including coaching and/or conflict resolution skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in writing and verbally in English
- Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility.
- Strategic thinking and planning, creative and collaborative problem solving.
- Clear, consistent, and values-oriented decision-making.
- Strong skills in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and client database systems
- Experience with UltiPro, Workday, or other HRIS is a significant asset
- Experience with CAMS (Case Administration Management System) is a significant asset

- Background check consent
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clean drivers abstract
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
- Permanent, full-time, 40 hours per week
- Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm and includes a ½ hour unpaid meal break. Some flexibility may be required, and shifts may fluctuate in start and end times as discussed with Residential Services Manager.
