Overview of The Role
As a Master Data Governance Specialist at Saputo, you work as part of a team responsible for all organization-wide master data governance activities and play a critical role in improving the quality of the master data and enabling the organization to leverage it as an enterprise asset.

This work includes:
- Designing and implementing data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the accuracy, security, and consistency of our master data assets.
- Defining roles and responsibilities related to master data governance and ensuring clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s global master data.
- Creating data catalogs, metadata management, and data lineage documentation.
- Designing, implementing, and performing data quality controls to ensure data is accurate and reliable.
- Designing and implementing enhancements to Master Data Governance tools.
- Designing and implementing new BI capabilities for analyzing Master Data.
- Establishing data classification and access control mechanisms.
- Conducting governance training programs and awareness for employees.
- Collaborating with other teams to implement master data governance in new technologies e.g. Microsoft Data Lake / Purview / AI
- Contributing to the definition of indicators of performance (KPIs) and quality metrics and monitoring compliance with standards and policies.
- Staying up to date with industry trends and regulations related to data governance.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in master data governance, master data management, or related roles.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in SAP Master Data (e.g. Material, Vendor, Customer and GL)
- Strong knowledge of data governance principles, best practices, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in data modeling, data profiling, and data quality assessment.
- Experience with data governance tools and technologies (e.g., SAP MDG, SAP Data Services, Info-Steward, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) is a plus.
- Able to operate in a complex, fast-paced environment with interdependencies spanning multiple work-streams, teams, business functions, geographies, time zones, & language.
- Ability to work independently ensuring alignment to our IT strategy.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree in information management, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
