Job Overview

Reports to the Racquet Sports Director. Specific duties would include, but are not limited to:

• Create a safe and enjoyable environment and experience for all member participants
• Lead the badminton professional team and guide the development of the coaching staff.
• Promote and grow the sport within the Boulevard Club, responsible for developing engaging programing for both adult and junior players of all levels.
• Provide badminton instruction to both Adult and Junior Section Members.
• Provide Pickleball instruction to both Adult and Junior Section Members
• Develop Badminton Section Communications and attend all Badminton Section Meetings.
• Develop and implement lesson plans for all instructional programming.
• Manage all section social events and programs.
• Promote a vibrant social atmosphere within the Badminton Section
• Manage the Badminton Summer Camp, responsible for staff training.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• First Aid and CPR/AED
• NCCP Competition Introduction Provincial Coach – Trained Status (Level 2)
• NCCP Instructor 2: Developing Recreational Players
• Previous Badminton playing experience (Provincial, University or equivalent)
• Previous experience teaching adults and juniors of all ages and levels

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

• Extensive experience coaching badminton to kids of all ages and levels
• Experience leading Adult Programming (Clinics, Round Robins, Ladders, Special Events)
• Ability to explain and demonstrate technical skills in a clear and concise manner
• Positive, energetic, approachable, strong communication and time management skills
• Ability to motivate and inspire people to believe in themselves and reach their potential
