Job Summary Job Description What is the opportunity? Join a team where you will develop your people management experience and put your leadership skills to work. A team where you will collaborate with business partners across several segments of the Business; including Adjudication, Corporate Banking, Loan Portfolio Management and other Capital Markets areas. As a Vice President, Global Credit, you will support the Ratings & Monitoring team with efficient and effective credit analysis and risk assessment of RBC’s Capital Markets clients via continuous monitoring and portfolio analysis. As a leader, you will be responsible for “Unlocking the Potential of our People”, one of the pillars of the RBC Leadership model, as you will be developing, training, coaching and mentoring your team of Associates. Please note that this is a Toronto based role where there is a minimum expectation of 3 to 4 days in the office. What will you do? Manage a team of Associates who each manage credit risk associated with their industry specific portfolios, gaining credit and industry expertise Lead an institutional credit team, responsible for the ratings and surveillance of a diversified portfolio (Natural Resources, Retail, and Building Materials) in the capital markets space Besides leading a team, the Vice President will also have a portfolio of Borrowers to manage including providing industry thought leadership, compiling and analyzing financial statements, managing complex financial models, assessing a company’s competitive positions and industry outlook Monitor company and industry developments in real-time and play an active role in rating discussions and quarterly industry roundtables What do you need to succeed? Must-Have: People management skills/experience Demonstrated leadership abilities with the ability to mentor and inspire Strong people and relationship management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Well-developed analytical instincts 3-5 years knowledge and experience in credit risk and/or financial analysis Knowledge of financial risk management concepts and techniques, familiarity with financial markets and credit operations High degree of computer literacy: MS Office Suite, database software, and electronic tools for on-line research Nice-To-Have: Entrepreneurial mindset Natural Resources experience Formal people management experience Academic background with a Master’s level accreditation: usually an MBA, CFA, CPA or other professional designation Experience with Bloomberg, S&P, Capital IQ, Moody’s, Tableau, SQL, Python What’s in it for you?
