The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada’s largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is owned by Equinox Gold Corp., a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil                   PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE: Process payroll information including but not limited to master file changes, earnings, department changes, leaves, new hire set-up, and terminations for multiple payrolls.Verify timecards, attendance records, and other data for accuracy.Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.Request and follow up on relevant SAP Concur Access for new employees.Stay current with tax regulations and labor laws to ensure payroll and financial compliance.Prepare and submit payroll tax reports to relevant authorities.Assist in the completion of audits by providing necessary financial data and records.Reconcile employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave accrual to the payroll system and the general ledger.Maintain employee records and payroll data accurately and securely.Prepare journal entries as required.Generate payroll and financial reports for management and external stakeholders.Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances, assisting in decision-making processes.               SKILLS AND COMPETENCIESStrong computer skills.Self-motivated and safety consciousAbility to prioritize multiple tasks.Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements in payroll.Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrates as strong attention to detail.Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.Strong analytical skillsWilling to adapt and work in an inclusive work environment.Willing to perform repetitive tasks.               EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONPost-secondary education in the fields of payroll, human resources management, accounting, public administration, and / or clerical/administrative, or equivalent combination of education and/or payroll-related experience.Considerable clerical or administrative experience, specifically related to the payroll or attendance keeping/time entry functions.Considerable experience using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).Experience using automated payroll/time and attendance systems and reporting software, such as SAP, SuccessFactors, and ADP/WorkForce Now.      LOCATIONThis position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.HOW TO APPLYTo submit your resume please visit www.greenstonegoldmines.com/careers. Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up point locations.We thank all candidates for their applications, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Greenstone Gold Mines is committed to inclusiveness, equity, and accessibility.
