This role is actively involved in identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and ensures internal quality system standards – structural, mechanical, electrical - are upheld via auditing, procedure writing corrective actions and reporting.Key Accountabilities:Understand contract specifications and work with the production and operations teams to provide guidance, identify areas of risk ensuring quality standards align with the project scope and the Quality Assurance PlanTrack, analyze and regularly report on observations, including identifying, developing and presenting opportunities for continuous improvement in terms of quality management execution.Collaborate with the production team to ensure develop and implement the Quality Assurance Plan.Conduct and document internal audits and inspections of structural, mechanical, and electrical components to ensure compliance with quality standards and review and disposition non-conformance reports.Provide a positive and supportive approach when dealing with unexpected issues.Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Fero Code of Business Conduct.Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.May perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.Qualifications:2+ years of experience with quality control accountability, in either construction or manufacturing related to commercial or healthcare buildings.Knowledge of the construction industry; understands specifications, drawings, methods, and procedures.Knowledge of various engineering systems, principles, and practices.Excellent understanding and interpretation of building codes: mechanical, electrical, and related federal and provincial regulations.Experience focused on electrical and plumbing is considered an asset .Ability to influence project planning and sequencing.Ability to monitor project progress to ensure timely inspections.Ability to identify quality risks associated with the project(s).Ability to interpret plans and specifications.Experience leading internal quality assessments and assisting in developing of procedures and quality assurance plans.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Self-motivated, proactive individual who can excel independently and manage own projects and deadlines.Strong technical aptitude, with knowledge of MS Office applications (including SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)Physical Requirements:Must stand for long periods, with frequent lifting up to 50lbs.Able to work in all weather conditions including outdoors.Bending, crouching, kneeling, lifting, tight spaces and ladder useWearing PPE such as safety boots, safety vest, safety glasses and gloves.Competencies for Success:Relationship Management: ability to build relationships at all levels, and across teams as a trusted advisor, with strong self-awareness.Adaptive Thinking: applies critical thinking coupled with sound analysis and judgement to evaluate ideas, strategies, and outcomes.Strategic Orientation: Able to anticipate emerging issues or outcomes based on experience and critical thinking.Risk Orientation - Assessment and Mitigation Skills: demonstrates sound judgement in making decisions involving complex information and dynamic situations which complements business performance.
