Role overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Guidewire Developer with expertise in PolicyCenter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing, implementing, and maintaining insurance software solutions using the Guidewire platform. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and delivering high-quality technical solutions that meet business requirements and enhance system performance, reliability, and functionality. What you'll do Develop, configure, test, and maintain Guidewire PolicyCenter applications according to project timelines and quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, architects, QA engineers, and other developers, to gather functional specifications, identify gaps, and propose optimal technical solutions. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and guidelines. Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and sprint meetings as required. Ensure all deliverables align with client expectations, industry regulations, and company policies. Troubleshoot production issues, debug errors, and provide quick turnaround time on issue resolution. Stay up to date with new features, updates, and trends related to Guidewire PolicyCenter and share knowledge with the broader development community. Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to junior developers and contribute to continuous learning within the organization. What you bring to the role 5-7 years of proven experience working with Guidewire PolicyCenter as a developer or consultant. Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript, XML, JSON, SQL, and Web Services (RESTful APIs). Familiarity with Guidewire InsuranceSuite components such as ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, and DataHub is desirable. Experience with Agile methodologies, Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins, JIRA, and Confluence. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to collaborate effectively with remote and distributed teams. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto.
