Compensation: BAND B Range: $71.65 - $93.50 ResponsibilitiesThe Director, Diagnostic and Laboratory Services is a key leadership role accountable in partnership with the Chief Diagnostic Imaging and the Chief Pathology and Medical Laboratory for the quality of care and safe practice provided by a multi-disciplinary medical, technical and clinical team. The director with support from the managers, decision support and financial professionals is accountable for establishing and managing the capital and operating budgets, staff competence/productivity, professional practice, patient care protocols, and risk management. The director leads the team in development of operational goals, objectives and strategic diagnostic services program development based on industry knowledge and expertise. The director leads planning and procurement of capital assets, minor equipment and supplies. Requirements Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience Undergraduate degree in Medical Radiation Sciences, Diagnostic Modality or Laboratory Sciences or equivalent Completion of Masters in Healthcare or Business or willingness to complete Proven leader with integrity, demonstrates ability to earn and retain stakeholder trust Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment Demonstrated experience to motivate, coach and develop team members Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization Demonstrated experience in promoting high quality, interprofessional work environments that result in safe, quality, patient-centered outcomes Demonstrated success of organizational change initiatives that have improved both clinical and fiscal utilization Demonstrated ability to plan, execute and change management. Demonstrated commitment to adopt effective and relevant technology and automation to achieve continuous quality service improvement Commitment to working in partnership with patients and families and building a culture dedicated to improving the patient experience Ability to apply communication, facilitation and conflict management skills and expertise to influence and negotiate effective quality of care process and resolution of issues/disputes Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, colleagues and physicians Proven facilitation, communication, relationship building, collaboration, leadership and organizational skills Demonstrated ability to analyze fiscal, patient care data and statistics Commitment to on-going learning and professional development Strong understanding of health care roles, scope of practice and health-care related legislation (e.g. RHPA, QCIPA) Demonstrated ability to access, interpret, and synthesize evidence-based practices Demonstrates knowledge in clinical practice in the care of patients Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
