Role:

Web Summit produces the best technology conferences in the world, with our latest event starting in Vancouver in 2025. As we expand our presence across the globe, we now require a Deputy Country Manager in Vancouver, BC to help us foster and cement a thriving and successful partnership.


What you’ll achieve:
  • Support the development and implementation of a coherent strategy for Web Summit in Canada and North America.
  • Advise on key stakeholder relations, operations, corporate and community engagement
  • Foster key relationships to ensure long term success in the region
  • Ensure that Web Summit maintains a smooth and coherent relationship with our city, provincial, and federal stakeholders.
  • Work as an internal resource and consultant for teams within Web Summit, utilising your specialised knowledge of Canada and North America.
  • Increase political engagement, ensuring the participation of key attendees at our events
  • Advise on, and lead where necessary, business engagement with partner companies and delegations.
  • Contribute to and support the Vancouver tech ecosystem year-round.
Skills we like to see:
  • You’re capable of utilising your positive rapport to nurture constructive, strategic relationships with stakeholders.
  • You have an extensive network of Canadian and North American contacts in political, enterprise and media circles.
  • You have experience with negotiation in proposal and tender processes
  • You’re a clear communicator with the ability to network, secure referrals and leverage contacts
  • Ability to work to agreed KPIs, and report on progress to senior management within Web Summit.
  • You’re a problem solver, always looking for a solution that benefits all parties
  • You are comfortable working with high profile VIPs, dealing with sensitive matters with the utmost professionalism

$130,000 - $160,000 a year
