We offer a comprehensive group benefits program including medical, dental, vision, life and so much more.Position SummaryNutrablend Foods is seeking a Formulation Scientist to support the Research & Development team.Responsibilities•     Support product development activities including product formulation, organoleptic evaluations, and generating nutrition information, allergen statements, and ingredient declarations•     Ensure product development activities are conducted in accordance with company quality procedures and applicable regulations•     Manage sample and documentation requests with lab and suppliers for new ingredients, organize documentation •     Collaborate with laboratory technologists and oversee execution of bench top sample creation•     Source new raw materials, evaluate technical documentation and ensure all raw materials meet company requirements•     Ensure that priorities and deliverables are in alignment with company’s objectives. Take a strategic approach to formulation in effort to support cost saving initiatives and manufacturing efficiencyQualifications•     1-2 years of relevant industry experience, background in nutraceutical/supplement industry is an asset •     Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutritional/Nutraceutical Science or Food Science or equivalent combination of experience and education required•     Excellent project management skills, and ability to manage a large volume of projects through the product development lifecycle•     Self-motivated, highly organized, with incredible attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment•     Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross functional teams•     Knowledge of ingredients, nutrition, calculation of nutritional data, CFIA and FDA regulations in the Dietary Supplements category considered an asset•     Good practical knowledge of GMP, HACCP and Food Safety•     Practical experience of Genesis (Nutrition Software) would be considered an asset•     Practical experience of SAP or other ERP systems would be considered an asset•     Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information as well as high level of accuracy with information•     Must be able to travel monthly to production facility located in Lancaster, NY (access to car and valid passport are essential)
