Development CoordinatorJob Status: Full Time, SalariedReports To: Director, Development    September 2024SUMMARYThe Development Coordinator supports the design and development approval phases for a unique portfolio of projects in the GTHA. The role includes coordinating activities, resources, planning, scheduling, budgets, and reporting in collaboration with project team colleagues across functional groups. This is a tremendous opportunity to stretch, grow and make meaningful contributions at a fast-paced, purpose-driven organization.SKILLS AND COMPETENCIESPost-secondary degree(s) in Architecture, Urban Planning, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or equivalent experienceOne to three years of relevant experience supporting the delivery of mixed-use urban infill projectsAn understanding and/or interest in the development approvals processAbility to interpret and understand drawings and specificationsAn appreciation for design-led development and the importance of human-centered design strategiesEffective written and verbal communications skillsStrong interpersonal skills, able to develop and maintain relationshipsStrong organizational skills, keen attention to detailAn analytical mindset with demonstrated business acumenThe ability to balance the details with the big picture to advance strategic objectives in a fast-paced environmentTenacious with a contagious desire to learn, grow and deliverProven ability to work effectively independently and in a team-based environmentCurious, collaborative, and approachablePassionate, with a demonstrated interest in city-building and/or social impact; improving practices and building solutions that will influence the industry for the betterRESPONSIBILITIESSupport Development Team colleagues’ cross-functional full-cycle leadership of a discrete portfolio of four to six projects at various scales and stages of developmentCoordinate components of development applications including planning approvals (OPA, ZBA, SPA, etc.) and building permitsCoordinate proposals, onboard project consultants and liaise with project consultant team throughout the design and approvals processSupport the tracking and maintenance of project management tools including budgets and cash flow forecasts, schedules, risk registries, project status reports, internal tracking documents, etc.Collaborate and coordinate with colleagues across each of TAS’s functional teamsCoordinate and review drawings and documents prepared by the consultant team for compliance with project objectivesCoordinate project meetings and track deliverablesCoordinate and assist with documents in support of sales and marketing processes, legal agreements with the City, neighbours, etc.Support Development Managers and TAS functional teams with additional project phases as required, including site acquisition, construction, sales and marketing, leasing, and occupancyDeepen personal understanding of TAS’s strategy on an ongoing basis, embody and contribute to our cultureABOUTTAS is an impact-focused real estate company, committed to creating thriving neighborhoods and shared prosperity – for today and for generations to come.
